Biography.
Born and raised in a small town near Liverpool England, Bethany grew up surrounded by great northern music, Sunday roasts and her beautiful family. Always encouraged to follow her dreams no matter where it takes her, she left home at 18 to train in top theatre schools in London and Barcelona, graduating from London School of Musical Theatre.
After sailing the seas for a year as ‘Annette’ in Royal Caribbean’s Saturday Night Fever, Covid hit HARD. Days in the garden and at home workouts became the new norm for a while back in the good ol’ North of England. A successful self tape during the height of Covid offered Bethany her Off-Broadway principal debut in original musical, Mike & Mindy’s Wild Weekend Jam. After 15 months of working to get her O1 visa, it was granted just 48 hours before she was due to fly to the States to start rehearsals. She packed up her (many) cases and moved across the pond to pursue her dreams in 2021. Originating a role has always been a huge dream for Bethany, and doing it under producing mentorship of two-time Tony Award Winning Broadway Producer, Ken Davenport, and singing an original soundtrack written by the legendary Righteous Brothers music team topped all of her expectations.
Since moving to New York, Bethany has fallen completely in love with the city and its people. She went on to originate her second Off-Broadway musical as leading lady Frances Farmer in Brilliance at The Players Theatre, with a brand new score written by Lance & Kristan Lewman. Her voice can be heard as the leading lady on both original cast albums for Mike & Mindy’s Wild Weekend Jam and Brilliance, recorded at FatBack studios in Nashville, Tennesse and Lounge Studios in Manhattan.
Bethany joined the Queendom and was cast as a Queen Alternate in the worldwide phenomenon SIX: The Musical onboard NCL’s Norwegian Bliss, covering Seymour, Cleves and Parr and acting as Dance Captain. A dream come true for Bethany. She returned and quickly hit the road on the US National touring cast of Pretty Woman The Musical, as Understudy Vivian Ward/Susan, touring the US and Canada for nine months, playing 206 shows, 51 cities and 34 states, before taking the show to tour iconic cities in Japan including Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto. Shortly afterwards, Bethany played Cathy Hiatt in one her favourite musicals of all time, The Last Five Years at the Tryon Fine Arts Center, a personal highlight of her career so far.
And now we are up to date! Currently, Bethany is performing in the Broadway phenomenon The Great Gatsby in the Original Seoul Cast in South Korea! Dancing away at the party every night as well as understudying Jordan Baker and Myrtle Wilson.
When Bethany is not performing, she loves playing drums, practicing yoga and teaching young performers. She also loves facetiming her nephews and finding new coffee spots around the city. Bethany believes that life is an exciting adventure and you will end up right where you are meant to be if you believe in yourself and take that leap of faith.
“What is meant to be, will always find a way.”
